Instagram & Snapchat Update: Dreams Really Do Come True!

New Instagram & Snapchat Updates

Instagram Has Given Super Users The Update They’ve Been Waiting For!

If you’re a serious Instagram user, you may have more than one account — one for your selfies, and one (or more) for a separate interest.

Instagram just updated the app to allow a single person to run multiple accounts at the same time.

“Starting this week, you can quickly and easily switch between multiple accounts on Instagram!” Instagram said on its blog. By the end of this week, all Insta users will be able to enter account settings, tap on their username, and switch accounts.

“Once you have multiple accounts added, you’ll see your profile photo appear in places throughout the app so you can always tell which one you’re using at the moment.”

With multi-account support finally added, Instagram has added a crucial bit of convenience for users looking to focus on the social photography platform, for both personal and official requirements.

Other updates to Instagram includes support for longer, 30-second videos on the platform, and creation of custom GIFs with its companion app, Boomerang.  (see below)

SnapChat Update:

Snapchat updated its app with a new feature that makes it way easier to add friends by allowing you to share a personalized URL that others can use to follow you within the app.

The share username feature is a simple but effective one and gives each Snapchat user a personal URL that links directly to their handle.

Now all you need to do is go to the 'Add Friends' tab and select 'Share Username'. You'll get a URL you can share with anyone and when they click it, it will automatically redirect them to you on Snapchat. Pretty simple!

It may seem like a simple update but it makes it a lot easier to add new friends and find people who aren't in your phone's contacts list, which has long been a pain point for Snapchat. Previously, others could only find you in the app by snapping your Snapcode or by manually searching for a person's username. (There's also an "add nearby" feature that uses bluetooth to allow you find people in your immediate vicinity, but it only works if you are physically close to the person you're trying to add.)

Additional Snapchat Update: Sports Related GeoFilters

According to TechCrunch , at the end of January Snapchat silently rolled out a set of Live Score geofilters in partnership with Stats.com . The new Live Score geofilters do exactly what you’d expect. They allow Snapchat users to overlay live game score graphics on photos or videos taken at NFL or NBA game locations . The graphics also include information about how much time is left in the game. There’s been no word yet if NHL, MLB or other popular sporting events will be added to the Live Score geofilter list.

No wonder Snapchat has 100 million daily users and growing!
